At the end of the 19th century, British mountain pioneers began to climb the peaks of Romsdalen. The base for the adventurers was Hotel Aak. Now it is your turn to experience the majestic Romsdalen that have lured the world to Aak for centuries.
Between fjord and mountain, alpine peaks and open plains, we seek out the known, the hidden, indeed the most beautiful places Romsdalen has to offer. Where the trip goes is really entirely up to you. If you have dreamed of hiking a well-known classic such as Litlefjellet, Romsdalseggen or Romsdalshorn, we will gladly take you there. If you appreciate being alone in the mountains, or want to see places most others miss, we know where to take you. Here we seek out the hidden and unknown to most people.
About the tour
Together we will find the perfect hiking destination and ensure a spectacular experience. Here we can plan trips for the little ones to the adults, for those who are used to the mountains or not. The hikes vary as much as the landscape in Romsdalen. Whether you want to test your limits among alpine peaks, or want to experience the dramatic mountain landscape from a safe distance.
The guide will provide guidance and instruction in a safe and appropriate manner - regardless of your destination. The areas waiting for you are Isfjorden, Vengedalen, Trollstigen, Åfarnes, Innfjorden and Måndalen. In addition to assessing your skill level, the guide will also look at the weather conditions. They are especially relevant if you dream of more demanding hikes.
The meeting place and time will be agreed in advance. We are flexible.
Tourists
Easy. Half-day hike. 3-5 hours.
Suitablefor beginners. Requires no special skills. Great for families.
Example of tour: Herjevatnet, Selsetervatnet, Litlefjellet or Bispevannet.

Medium. Day trip. 4-6 hours.
Suitable for those with some experience in terrain. You are moderately physically fit.
Example of trip: Moanebba (757 m above sea level), Rampestreken and/or Nesaksla (715), Tarløysa (1086), Gridsetskolten (1066).

Hard. Day trip. 6-8 hours.
Suitable for those who are in good physical shape. Hikes in demanding and steep terrain. Hikes without ropes.
Example: Romsdalseggen (1215) 970 m ascent, 10.3 km), Store Trolltind (1788) 1010 m ascent, 14 km), Bispen (1462) 781 m ascent, 5.6 km), Isfjordseggen (1198) 1700 m ascent, 14.3 km).
