Operations manager
One hundred percent permanent position. Application deadline October 20.
Who are we?
Hotel Aak, Norway's first tourist hotel in the countryside. This is where the mountain sports pioneers had their base at the end of the 19th century. Today, we work to preserve the comfortable, rural and homely atmosphere. Here you will be able to relax and feel the warm Aak feeling. Luxury with us is genuine, simple and down-to-earth. Guests are taken around the mountains. Fresh mountain people host them. Performance, enjoyment. Inspiration, mastery and learning. Travel less and experience more, we say. Tourists and people who want to celebrate life visit us on weekends, businesses on weekdays.
What does the job entail?
You're the operational manager, you make sure everything runs smoothly. You make sure all the details are in place before, during and after guest visits. You make sure that the Aak team works hard and plays as a team. The house shines and the guests are pampered. You are also involved as a host and in serving. You feel the product and the atmosphere on your body. At the forefront of your mind is always the question: how can we make this the best possible experience for guests and staff? Employees are just as important as our guests. Happy employees make for even happier guests ;) Your tasks will include personnel (routines, training, rota), purchasing and reporting to the hostess. Ensuring good communication flow is key in all this. Since we are a seasonal business, work tasks will vary with the seasons. In the off-season, we fill our hours with all kinds of work such as sales, events, planning of seasons and other potato work.
What can we offer?
At Aak you can be yourself, say what you think. Aak evolves together with feedback from guests and staff. Since the hotel is small (16 rooms), you get insight into all aspects of operations. The path from idea to action is short. No two days are ever the same and there are always changes. The pressure is greatest during the summer months and weekends in winter. As a result, workload and time will vary according to occupancy. When we have guests, you're on the floor with the gang. At Aak, we're flexible and make the most of our days: a walk in the fresh air on a nice day, working from home if that suits you best. Working days alternate between day, evening and weekend (more evening and weekend in quieter periods). The great thing about the latter two is that you get the powder for yourself on weekdays! Hotel Aak is environmentally certified. We are constantly looking for new ways to reduce our footprint. And by now you may have realized that you can make a difference here too.
Do you want to help develop the hotel further? Do you like people and atmosphere? Quality and details? Management and development? Organizing events and working with sales? Are you flexible and take on tasks where necessary. Then we could be the place for you.
I'm super excited to talk to you if you're curious! Send a message below or call me on 918 199 81.
Adventurous greetings
hostess Kristine and the other mountain-loving potatoes at Aak
